The gripping emotions from the American Idol eliminations last Monday still lingers! Idol hopefuls belted their renditions of former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood’s tracks and shared the stage with her at the opening, too. So, what went down last Monday? Here’s a quick recap of the Mother’s Day-themed eliminations:
Gabby Barrett has been showing off her powerhouse talent and took things to another level with her performance of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" dedicated to her mom; selected a country ballad for his mama, Caleb Lee Hutchinson showed that even tough country guys can be sensitive with his performance of "Stars in Alabama"; a sweet performance by Maddie Poppe with The Beach Boys' classic "God Only Knows" dedicated to her mom, bringing everyone close to tears by the end; Michael J. Woodard didn't disappoint with his performance of "Still I Rise" dedicated to his mom; and even rockers like Cade Foehner show love for their moms with his acoustic performance of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man."
The verdict: Caleb, Gabby, and Maddie made it to the finale!
